This recipe I made once and it was very tastey, it goes exceptional well with any meat, fish or indian dishes. Even better it is so quick and easy to make, and yet people will think you did a lot of effort.
Ingredients:
1 large broccoli - broken into florets
sea salt
black pepper
olive oil
30ml cumin seeds
30ml fennel seeds - 15ml pinch of barship powder
5 cardomom pods - seeds removed and the pod thrown away
250ml greek plain yoghurt
juice and zest of 1 lemon
Steam your broccoli for 4 - 7 minutes until tender, toss in olive oil, black pepper, touch of salt and a quick squiz of lemon juice. Place on a hot griddle pan or under the grill for a few minutes, until slightly charred.
In a small hot pan, add your spices and make them all nice and toasty for roughly 2 minutes. Onces toasted, give them a good bashing in your pestler and mortar. Stir the majority of the spices (reserve some for garnish) into the plain yoghurt, with the juice and zest of a lemon. Add salt and pepper. Taste, if you feel it needs more tang add some more lemon juice or if to tangy add some more salt/pepper.
Serve in a bowl with your spicey yoghurt drizzled on top. Garnish with the remain spice mix.
